Good health begins in the gut.

Your gut is home to billions of bacteria. GOOD gut health happens when these bacteria are mainly made up of of a diverse range of the beneficial kind. These bacteria help you to digest food, manufacture certain vitamins, enhance nutrient absorption, produce waste products that enhance immunity, support hormonal metabolism and reduce inflammation.

Unfortunately, sometimes we don’t have enough of these good bacteria or, worse, we have an overgrowth of bad bacteria. Bad bacteria can cause infection, diarrhoea, poor nutrient absorption and/or production, bloating, lowered immunity and increased allergy risk and symptoms. Certain bacteria have been linked to metabolic syndrome, poor skin, liver disease, heart disease, increased anxiety, depression and inflammation.

What can contribute to poor gut health?

High levels of stress, poor diet, low levels of exercise, a lack of sleep, antibiotics and artificial sweeteners are just some of the things than can cause an imbalance in our gut bacteria.
